Surveyor

The Role
Surveyor will be carrying out different types surveying and data collections. Some of these include topographic surveying, setting out surveying, engineering measurements, hydrographic surveys and UAV mapping. You will be responsible for surveying support services for wide range of projects.
Competencies
Fluent English.
Able to work in the field and quick adaptability to new environments, the ability to pick up new technical skills, and capability of tracking new industry development.
Familiar with modern surveying systems such as GNSS, UAV, USV, Laser scanning and GIS.
Work well with a team
Minimum two years surveying experience
Responsibilities
Liaise, coordinate and manage the surveying projects which are being implemented at Water Solutions
Plan and organize in surveys under the approval of Chief Surveyor
With guidance from the Chief Surveyor perform necessary data compilation, digitization, geo-referencing, and related GIS tasks, for establishing the geospatial database within a GIS system.
Assist to environment team at Water Solutions to undertake Environmental Studies, Environmental Impact Assessment Studies in creating maps and other visualizations.
Support the environment team and survey team in undertaking field visits, preparation of project reports and related documentation.
Assist the management to ensure smooth information sharing among all concerned in the implementation of the projects.
Preparation of surveying equipment and other necessary materials required for any survey.
Undertaking, topographic survey, as-built survey, hydrographic survey and setting out survey of any project represented by the company.
Ensure all the necessary equipment’s, forms, maps and other materials needed for the surveys in the field are working order before travelling to the field.
Development of necessary skills required to completed the designated tasks
Taking care of the instruments
Ensure all the field expenses occurred in the field is properly accounted as required by the accountant.

Environmental and Social Safeguard Officer

The Role
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Environmental and Social Safeguards Officer will provide technical support on the Environmental and Social Safeguards for the project activities implemented under the Addu Development Project. The Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist will be based in Addu City.
Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, environmental sciences or relevant field
At least 1 year of relevant experience in working with private or government sector to identify environmental/social risks and issues
Experience in conducting environmental assessments in the Maldives will be an added advantage
Fluency in English and Dhivehi (spoken and written)
Ability to work independently
Fluent in Dhivehi and English.
Work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Work under the supervision of Team Leader
Monitor safeguard compliance by Contractor to identify the potential environment and social safeguards issues in accordance with the relevant national regulation/EIA regulation
Visit project sites to monitor and supervise safeguard compliance works
Ensure the implementation of mitigation measures and monitoring requirements in EIA reports, EMP and permits from EPA
Ensure the implementation of contractor’s safeguard requirement in Construction Environment Management Plan, Health and Safety Plan and other related documents
Provide monthly reports including photographs of contractors compliance with the environment and safeguard requirements
