Geotechnical Surveys
Geotechnical surveys are investigations carried out to gather information about the properties and characteristics of the soil, rock, and groundwater at a particular site. These surveys are usually conducted before any construction work begins, to help engineers and architects understand the physical and geological conditions of the site, and to identify any potential hazards or risks that may need to be mitigated.
Feritech FT551
Ground-Truthing Seismic Data Made Easy
The Feritech FT551 is specifically designed to collect core samples from the sea bed, making it the perfect solution for ground-truthing seismic data in reclamation projects. The Feritech FT551 Vibrocorer stands at the forefront of technological innovation, enabling seamless collection of sediment core samples from the sea bed. Powered by a vibrating head, it effortlessly penetrates the seabed, reaching depths of up to 12 meters.
Enhancing Reclamation Projects
Our approach begins with rigorous calibration, ensuring the Feritech FT551 Vibrocorer operates at peak performance. Deployed from a vessel using a crane, this instrument is lowered to the seabed using a precision winch. Once in position, the vibrating head springs into action, deftly penetrating the seabed to extract the desired core sample. With swift retrieval, the sample is safely stored, ready for further analysis by our geologists.
At every step, we uphold stringent quality control measures to maintain the integrity and accuracy of our collected samples. Regular maintenance and calibration of the instrument are conducted to guarantee optimal performance. Our dedicated team handles the samples with utmost care, ensuring zero contamination. To preserve their integrity, the samples are stored in a controlled environment before undergoing comprehensive laboratory analysis to unveil their composition and characteristics.
Feritech Global's Vibrocorer offers an Optional Variable Frequency Feature. Through the utilization of this exceptional capability, our variable frequency system guarantees minimal sample disturbance, delivering pristine, high-quality samples even at high power settings.
The system can be easily adjusted to collect core samples ranging from 1m to 9m in length, with precise 1m increments. The frame is constructed using common modules, 1m and 3m in length, enabling swift configuration to accommodate the desired core length.
Our Vibrocorer can be deployed and recovered in both horizontal and vertical axes, eliminating the need for a LARS (Launch and Recovery System). This versatility allows for hassle-free barrel swapping in either position, and allows us to work in more environments.
